Introducing Dylan Block
Dylan Block on Power, Precision, and the Path to Pro Golf
We're excited to share our latest interview with rising golf star and MANORS ambassador, Dylan Block. Known for his jaw-dropping 400-yard drives and fearless approach to the game, Dylan opens up about his career ambitions, the influence of his father, and how social media is reshaping the sport.
Q: Can you describe your golf game to someone who’s never seen you play. Who are you as a golfer?
A: “I like to hit the golf ball very far. I like to make the ball sound like a jet flying through the sky, that’s what I like to do. I also like to hit cool spinning chip shots and shoot really low numbers. I’m a very aggressive player. I go after every single pin I look at, and I go after every single par five. I’ll never lay up on par fives. I also love to smash my driver.”
Q: We know you’re not messing around with golf, what’s the vision for your career? What do you want to achieve?
A: “My vision for my career is to be on the PGA Tour and to be the fastest on the tour by a long shot. I want to be cruising at 210 mph ball speed, 25 mph faster than the next guy on the PGA Tour. I just want to win, have fun, and give the people what they want.”
Q: What’s your mindset when stepping up for a 400+ yard drive? What’s the secret to letting one rip like that?
A: “When I’m hitting a 400-yard drive, like I have done in professional long drive events, it’s all about adrenaline. I give absolutely 100% into that ball. Afterward, I’m so tired that I can’t hit or even move for a couple of days. My muscles aren’t that big—I’m all about flexibility—so when I put 150% of my energy into it, I literally end up shaking.”
Q: Your father has also gained some notoriety in the last few years, what impact has Blocky senior had on your career to date?
A: “My dad has had a pretty big impact on my career, just by growing up playing with him and his friends. Competing with them helped me get better and hit the ball farther. He also gave me the nickname ‘Pooty Cuts,’ he’s the originator of that.”
Q: What’s the hardest thing about the journey you’re on to become a pro golfer?
A: “The hardest thing about the journey to becoming a PGA Tour player is minimizing mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, even Tiger Woods. It’s all about minimizing them—not parring par fives, not making stupid three-putt bogeys.”
Q: What’s the best thing about the journey?
A: “The best thing about the journey is meeting people. But not just meeting people—making people happy. It makes my day. I think that’s really special.”
Q: Golf is evolving with social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. How has this impacted your approach to the game and connecting with fans?
A: “I think social media, like TikTok and Instagram, is great because it allows me to show people what I’m capable of and to teach them things, whether it’s trick shots or other skills. It’s a great platform to reach people and connect with fans.”
Q: What’s your favorite course in the world and why?
A: “My favorite course in the world is probably either Cypress Point or The Preserve. I love Cypress not just because of the name but because it’s like three different courses in one. The first six holes are sand dunes, the middle six are woods and trees, and the last six are all water. I think that design is really cool.”
Q: You’ve just signed with MANORS Golf, how do you think you and your golf style align with the brand?
A: “I’ve just signed with MANORS Golf, and I think my style aligns really well with the brand. First off, I need stretchy material because I’m flexible, and MANORS delivers that. I also love how they go back to the old links-style golf but with modern twists. I wouldn’t sign with someone or a company that I don’t believe in.”
